Riesling vom Rotliegenden
This aromatic Riesling comes from the red clayslate soils of Rheinhessen region. The special terroir gives the Riesling a very individual touch. Due to the complex soil conditions, the vines are able to use the nutrients particularly well to develop highly healthy and aromatic grapes during the long growing season. Aromas of ripe yellow fruits and citrus characterize the Riesling from the Rotliegenden and its long juicy finish makes it an ideal partner to Asian cuisine.
The literal cornerstone of this wine has been layd millions of years ago: Chalk reefs of the ancient sea sedimenteed here, where the Pfalz is right now, and turned into stone, as well as marine animals, which are also part of ths special ground today. You can still find fossils in the limestone of the Pfalz, like ammonites, shown on the label of Riesling Kalkstein.
With great care during the whole winemaking process, starting from the grape up to the bottle, we managed to combine the unique profile of the ground with the Riesling-grape to a very special wine.
Typically mineral in character this Riesling has delicate fruit flavours to leave a pleasant and invigorating impression.
