Carl Reh has founded his winery in 1920 in Leiwen in the heart of the middle Mosel valley.
Behind the Carl Reh name is a tradition of passionate winemaking to create wines of the highest quality. This tradition has passed from generation to generation for more than 90 years and even today, the family’s third generation is dedicated to producing elegant and fine fruity wines that present a perfect harmony of tradition and modern spirit.
Particularly ripe grapes with a high sugar content were harvested by hand at the end of October. Spätlese means “late harvest” and these grapes are picked after the normal harvest is finished. This is a modern Spätlese not fermented in the wooden casks traditionally used in the Mosel valley, but in stainless steel to retain all the fruity flavours.
