Premium wines from the Palatinate region and fresh designs
Bingen/Düsseldorf, 17 March 2019. With national and international brands as well as distinctive expertise in the exclusive brand sector, Reh Kendermann offers the right wine for all requirements. The Bingen-based company will be presenting products from the entry-level price segment to the premium segment as well as current services at ProWein 2019 based on the motto “Many Expectations – One Choice”.
With various new products, Reh Kendermann likes to occupy the premium segment even more. The sparkling wine Black Tower Sparkling Ice has a revamped feature. The Bingen-based company is focusing on the increasingly important range of non-alcoholic and low-alcohol wines with two new varieties of Black Tower Deliciously Light 0.5% alc. “Our main strategic focus is on the long-term maintenance of existing product groups and the sustainable development of topics that are new for us. This is why our brands, such as Black Tower, the premium sector and non-alcoholic concepts continue to play a central role at ProWein this year”, explains Managing Director Alexander Rittlinger.
“Zusammenspiel” (Interplay) for new premium brand
Reh Kendermann intends to pay even more attention in future to the premiumisation of retailers and increasing consumer requirements. For this purpose, the Bingen-based company has developed a new series of premium wines from Germany: “Zusammenspiel CR|AR” The initials are those of the two Managing Directors Carl Reh and Alexander Rittlinger, who have worked together in Bingen for the last twelve years and have jointly managed the company since 2015. “Despite different roles and backgrounds, we share a passion for authentic German wines. We have expressed this in our new series”, reports Alexander Rittlinger. In addition to the shared vision of the two managing directors, the wines, which are influenced by the terroir, are characterised by their harmonious combination of climate, soils, region and craft. The wines thus stand for an interplay both literally and in the double sense. The product line includes the four varieties Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Weissburgunder (Pinot Blanc) and Spätburgunder Blanc de Noir, which are grown on limestone in the northern Palatinate region. “Our aim is to consolidate our position in the premium segment at home and abroad with ‘Zusammenspiel’ and also to develop alternative distribution channels like specialist and online trade”, says Alexander Rittlinger. The wines are priced from €6.99 to €7.99.
The latest news from South Africa
The acquisition of South African premium winery Napier Vineyards also opens up further distribution channels and new target groups for the winery. The Bingen-based company is raising the profile of the South African premium winery with continuous expansion of its product range. Recent new additions include “Petite Marie” Rosé, which impresses with its elegantly dry character and fine notes of red fruit as well as subtle aromas of citrus, as well as “Little Lara” Chenin Blanc. To produce the elegant wine, selected Chenin Blanc grapes were harvested especially early and fermented in cool temperatures.
Design relaunch for Black Tower Sparkling Ice
Black Tower, still the world’s best-selling wine brand with the label “made in Germany”, is regularly given fresh impetus by the experts from Reh Kendermann with product line extensions and new looks. In 2017, the traditional brand’s range was extended to include Black Tower Sparkling Ice. The sparkling wine is the first product in the segment that is both vegan and organic. Since its introduction, Reh Kendermann has enjoyed great success with the white and rosé varieties of Black Tower Sparkling Ice, especially in the Scandinavian region. After a comprehensive design relaunch, the product will initially hit the shelves in Sweden in a revamped look. The minimalist, high-quality features with a diamond-shaped label and a clear club-shaped bottle stand out from the classic sparkling wine competition. The fresh, minimalist look induces buying incentives and enables new target groups to be reached.
New varieties of Black Tower Deliciously Light
With the introduction of “Black Tower Deliciously Light 0.5% Alc.” in 2018, Reh Kendermann further extended its low-alcohol segment. “In exports, the non-alcoholic/low-alcohol range is a central growth segment. In the first year, we have already received a lot of positive feedback about ‘Black Tower Deliciously Light’ from partners and end users”, reports Alexander Rittlinger. The product with 0.5% alcohol was first launched on the global market in rosé and white varieties. In the meantime, red and sparkling variants have been added to the range.
